Well leading President of the James Randi Educational Foundation thinks that it is totally wrong to get platform to frauds he says to such mediums as John Edwards and Ms. Margolis. I always said and will continue to say make up your own minds. I do have a few comments about John Edwards. If Crossing Over John Edward's show was much of a fraud then why doesn't the camera man or someone working in the show come forth?. You would think after all this time someone would. And yes the good old Jame's Randi challenge what a publicity stunt he's very interested in feeding his ego.

Still awaiting on Aware Nde study results

Will be rather interesting to see what the results show for the Aware NDE study which Dr. Sam Parnia is doing. I have mentioned before one big problem that is a real problem and that is if you were outside your body you wouldn't be worried about looking for a sign. Even though the signs are places in visible range from above the fact remains you wouldn't be concerned about looking at them. The main things you be looking at is your body and the nurses and doctor trying to revive you. Plus the experience itself would take up your priority not signs that are put up.

The Unity of Consciousness and the Split-Brain Syndrome

I talked about split brain patient cases before presenting reasons why it doesn't show two separate streams of consciousness well there is more reasons as well.

Split–brain cases do not show the results we would expect if two fully independent, separate streams of consciousness were being generated by callosotomy; subjects can for instance continue to operate both halves of their bodies in unity and perform sometimes highly complex tasks. The evidence, therefore is more compatible with phenomenal unity without joint access (thus, the side of the brain responsible for speech cannot access the contents of that which is seen by the right side of the brain, even though both are contained within a single stream of subjective consciousness). This conclusion is also more parsimonious; and since the two–separate–streams hypothesis is (unlike dualism) an empirical one (instead of metaphysical), considerations of parsimony apply. Therefore, split–brain cases pose no serious difficulty to phenomenal unity, and thus in turn pose no serious difficulty towards dualism.

Incidentally, subjects born without a corpus callosum altogether, as well as those with agenesis of the corpus callosum, do not experience even the relatively mild symptoms which callosotomy patients do.

What we have here is one subject with a fragmented brain, not the sudden appearance of two ‘persons’ in one skull as some argue. Peter Ellis’ paper, ‘The Decider System Model: A Defense of the Cartesian Theatre’ is also of important relevance both to those interested in criticism of Dennett’s theories as well as the import of callosotomy experiments to philosophy of mind.

He mentions Sean- "Claims that some form of consciousness persists after our bodies die and decay into their constituent atoms face one huge, insuperable obstacle: the laws of physics underlying everyday life are completely understood, and there’s no way within those laws to allow for the information stored in our brains to persist after we die. If you claim that some form of soul persists beyond death, what particles is that soul made of? What forces are holding it together? How does it interact with ordinary matter"?

Leo- The laws of physics don't cover the whole of reality. Consciousness has an objective and subjective nature too it I think so its made of a different type of matter that is dual with the ordinary matter we have.

Sean- "Everything we know about quantum field theory (QFT) says that there aren’t any sensible answers to these questions. Of course, everything we know about quantum field theory could be wrong. Also, the Moon could be made of green cheese.

Leo- QFT opens the door that there can be souls.

Sean- Even if you don’t believe that human beings are “simply” collections of atoms evolving and interacting according to rules laid down in the Standard Model of particle physics, most people would grudgingly admit that atoms are part of who we are. If it’s really nothing but atoms and the known forces, there is clearly no way for the soul to survive death. Believing in life after death, to put it mildly, requires physics beyond the Standard Model. Most importantly, we need some way for that “new physics” to interact with the atoms that we do have.

Leo- The standard model of physics is known to be wrong. This is why physicists are looking for a unified theory of physics. Atoms (matter) are dual with the soul. No one who thinks a soul maybe true says that the soul is nothing but atoms and the known forces.

Sean- How is the spirit energy supposed to interact with us? Here is the equation that tells us how electrons behave in the everyday world:

[it's the Dirac equation.] . . . As far as every experiment ever done is concerned, this equation is the correct description of how electrons behave at everyday energies. It’s not a complete description; we haven’t included the weak nuclear force, or couplings to hypothetical particles like the Higgs boson. But that’s okay, since those are only important at high energies and/or short distances, very far from the regime of relevance to the human brain. If you believe in an immaterial soul that interacts with our bodies, you need to believe that this equation is not right, even at everyday energies. There needs to be a new term (at minimum) on the right, representing how the soul interacts with electrons. . .

Leo- This is assuming that because we can find the soul in a laboratory that it must mean it doesn't exist.

Sean- . . Nobody ever asks these questions out loud, possibly because of how silly they sound. Once you start asking them, the choice you are faced with becomes clear: either overthrow everything we think we have learned about modern physics, or distrust the stew of religious accounts/unreliable testimony/wishful thinking that makes people believe in the possibility of life after death. It’s not a difficult decision, as scientific theory-choice goes.

Indeed! Those who specify the existence of souls and afterlives in this scientific era must do more than issue fuzzy-minded gobbledygook. They must specify more precisely what they’re talking about, and how it’s supposed to work. If we’re supposed to survive after death, what part of us survives, and how? And what is this soul, exactly? We’re no longer in the Middle Ages, so theologians who make empirical claims must be empirically specific. There are biological questions as well. The first ones that occurs to me are these: where, exactly, in the human lineage did the soul emerge? (Or do other species have souls?) Was it put into that lineage by God, or did it evolve? If instilled by God, when? And where in our body does it reside? If we retain our memories and personalities in the afterlife, how do they exist without neurons?

Leo- Nowhere does he mention parallel universes and how they can shade light on these questions, nor does he mention how the observer our consciousness seems to be able to collapse the wave function in quantum mechanics. Neither does he mention the fact that atoms are made of mostly empty space. Also neither does he mention that particle appear to be in supposition two places at once. Also that particles can be entangled at large distances across space (Quantum Entanglement). If he did mention these his argument would be far more weaker. The soul is a duplicate of the physical body it vibrates that a higher frequency at death. The soul uses ESP and Telepathy as some of its spiritual senses (opposite of the physical senses).

Sean- Very roughly speaking, when most people think about an immaterial soul that persists after death, they have in mind some sort of blob of spirit energy that takes up residence near our brain, and drives around our body like a soccer mom driving an SUV. The questions are these: what form does that spirit energy take, and how does it interact with our ordinary atoms? Not only is new physics required, but dramatically new physics. Within QFT, there can’t be a new collection of “spirit particles” and “spirit forces” that interact with our regular atoms, because we would have detected them in existing experiments. Ockham’s razor is not on your side here, since you have to posit a completely new realm of reality obeying very different rules than the ones we know.

- Yes and quantum physics strongly indicated a hidden reality that can have very different rules than the ones we know.

Its look like James Randi's million dollar challenge has gotten a ton of publicity recently from many different media outlets.(ABC, CBC, Discovery, AOL, Gizmodo, Time). His trickster friend Banachek officiates a central part in a feature on ABC's Nightline dedicated to the topic of psychic powers. Of course this is a one off challenge and in science one experiment doesn't prove anything. I am doing to go through piece by piece of his post only what i think that is important to address. My responses will be below each statement. Here is the link that I took certain points from the post at.

He mentions first, "Decades of evidence from stroke victims, motorcycle accidents, car wrecks, construction site accidents, fMRI scans, PET scans, brain imaging, and other medical studies have given us a detailed picture of which portions of the brain are active in conjunction with specific cognitive abilities and mental states. What that research has shown is that minds depend upon brains. Damaging a part of the brain destroys a part of our thoughts, eliminates a cognitive ability, or alters some personal or emotional capacity. Restoring the electrical, chemical functions of the brain renews the mental function".

True mind is dependent upon the brain what the issue at stake isn't the tight correlation between mind and brain but if the function as William James stated before is permissive/transmissive or productive. Too to get to the truth of the matter we have to look at both sides of the evidence with an open mind and then decide which model fits better.

"While most of us would acknowledge some connection between mental function and the brain, we may have failed to see just how deep the connection runs. Even the most abstract mental faculties and the most specific features and contents of our private, mental states can be mapped directly onto brain functions".

And no substance dualism denies that their is a strong connection.

"In a remarkable study in 2005, neuroscientists reported the discovery of what they deemed the Halle Berry neuron. In order to isolate the location of the electrical chaos that induced their epilepsy, patients brains were implanted with electrodes. Then the patient was shown a variety of pictures while the activity of the neurons in the vicinity of the probes was recorded. In several instances, single neurons could be singled out whose activity spiked in response to specific images such as Halle Berry, Bill Clinton, or the Eiffel Tower. One neuron fired when the subject looked at a picture of Halle Berry in an evening gown, in a cat woman suit, as a cartoon, and even the words “Halle Berry,” suggesting that the neuron played an integral role in a large web of neurons who were responsible for a variety of abstract and high level representations of Halle Berry rather than some simpler function such as edge discrimination. This neuron did not respond comparably to the hundreds of other images used in the study (Quiroga, et al., 2005). Again, the evidence is against the survival hypothesis; every aspect of a person’s mental function is produced by brain function".

Of course their is an different interpretation to this case and that is it shows very strong correlation but not cause.

"If there was empirical evidence for survival, that is, if consciousness persists without the brain, then we would expect to find some exceptions to the close, direct correlations between the electro-chemical events in the brain and mental states, cognitive capacities, and conscious experience. If there were cases where we could establish that some or all of the mind functions that we attribute to the soul occur in the absence of brain processes altogether, or in the absence of the particular brain processes that have been most closely correlated with those functions in other cases, then we would have some striking evidence for survival and against the first premise in our argument. Suppose that we found cognitive abilities and consciousness to be present or absent with no apparent relation to the state of the human brain. If brain damage of various sorts left cognitive functions unscathed, or if consciousness persisted despite alterations in brain chemistry and structure, then we might have some evidence to doubt the correlation and the causal connection. Likewise, if some mental function lapsed while the brain was completely intact and functioning, we might have an empirical indicator of mind/brain autonomy. But we find no such violations in either direction".

And we do have such violations as he would call them. Those violations are widely discussed in the Irreducible Mind book a Psychology for the 21st century.

I came across this new article with an update on the Nde Aware project and it looks like no one saw the picture facing the wall according to Dr.Russell Metcalfe-Smith.

On the other hand here is what Dr. Sam Parnia has to say.

Dr Parnia refused to speculate on the results of his study but said many people interviewed had similar experiences.

He said: “The evidence that is interesting to me is that, contrary to my training, the entity we call the human mind and consciousness appears to continue to exist during the early stage of death.”

Remember though this is probably just one hospital reporting that no one saw the picture. Their are over 25 hospitals that are also putting up pictures. So we don't know the final results yet. Dr. Sam Parnia says either by the end of this year or next year we should know the final results of the study.

After extensively researching this subject throughout psychical research my conclusion is that it is in other realms of existence. So it ain't up above and hell is not down below instead heaven is in another realm of existence and the lower realms of existence that you may want to call hell. I am currently reading a book called the evidence for an afterlife by Dr. Jeffery Long an Nde researcher his view is that nde's the nine lines of evidence he presents in his book proves that an afterlife exists.

I would have to disagree in science their is no such thing as proof. So the best you can get is strong evidence that points to the high probability of an afterlife. But with just those nine lines of evidence in his book it still doesn't amount to strong evidence for an afterlife. It's until you look at all the evidence for an afterlife together then you can say their is very strong evidence for an afterlife.

The nine lines of evidence he mentions such as blind people from birth that are able to see during cardiac arrest and clinical death. He also mentions accurate veridical out of body perceptions that are collaborated by doctors and nurses and staff. I would say Near death experiences and out of body experiences evidence does provide a lot of good evidence for an afterlife. However, just from that phenomenon it would be hard to come to any preliminary conclusions on rather their is an afterlife or not.

It is often claimed throughtout the web and textbooks and lectures that substance dualism is dead!!!. Nothing can be further from the truth, the naturalists proclaim that substance dualism invokes a non physical substance dualism that can't be detected. No naturalist admits that a substance dualist, sees the soul as a different type of matter that has different properties as well as its not bound by the known physical laws that we are know of.

That this different type of matter obeys a different set of physical laws where time doesn't exist. We know now that there is more than one type of matter than what we know of as well as possible universes with different physical laws as well. We also can very imagine different types of matter that are totally indestructible from the matter that makes up our physical bodies.

Naturalists say that brain damage affects personality radically as well as the fact that personality doesn't back. But they couldn't be more wrong, it appears that personality, memories etc can come back just shortly before death. As in people who have near death experiences where can physical impairment, also with any mental impairment is restored.

Rebutting skeptic's arguments against Pam Reynolds NDE being evidence for life after death

I like to rebut a skeptic who said that Anesthestic awareness can explain all of the verdical perceptions Pam Reynolds had before and during her surgery. He/she says that she could hear the drill itself and that she was able to from awareness know what size it was and what it looked like. The very big problems with this explanations are these:

1) Only a tiny percentage of patients report anesthestic awareness out of thousands who are in cardiac arrest.
2) The known fact that her eyes were taped shut during this procedure so you would have to assume that somehow through her hearing alone if she could hear at all that is with the molded speakers in her ears. That she could imagine what this saw somehow looked like.

He/she says

If anesthetic awareness was operating, the sound of the saw, its sensation and vibration through bone conduction, and the movements of the surgeon’s hand, could all communicate significant information about the size, weight, and general function of the instrument. It would have to be hand held. The sound would give an indication of the size of the motor. The movements and actions would give cues as to the function of the instrument. Likewise, hearing the comment about veins.

That is assuming he wasn't given enough anesthetics, it order for this to work you have to assume that she wasn't given enough anesthetics. However, it looks like she was under heavy anesthesia making it medically impossible for her to have a consciousness memory of the experience.

Lets also not forget that

He/she also says that

"I would estimate it to be scientifically impossible to establish that blind people can see during an NDE, unless they can see veridical information that is exclusively visually encodable".

The following additional would have to be satisfied

1) not similar to the already known visual phenomena sometimes recorded in the blind.

2) verifiable as totally without sight since birth (preferably by congenitally nonfunctional optical system).

My response- The visual phenomena that is reported in the blind sometimes is no near similar to blind people who have near death experiences/out of body experiences. Also as far as I know many patients were indeed blind from birth and had nde/obe.

Then says,

The fact is that blind people still have a functional occipital lobe, which adapts to conveying internal information in a "sight like way" without actual sight being possible. Someone truly blind from birth would be unable to distinguish this from "sight" unless they later had actual sight restored."

But here's the rub many of them didn't have a functional occipital lobe but were still able to perceive clearly during there nde/obe.

For an example of a case of a blind patient having a nde/obe go here her optic nerve was completely destroyed.

The Observer in Quantum Physics plus what would be evidence that mind is somehow produced by the brain?

Skeptics have asked me what would be evidence that would show strongly that there is no mind and brain separation. My answer to that is if there was evidence of consciousness permanately erased after radicial damage coupled with approaching death. However that hasn't happen what we have in cases of people with radical personality damages changes after strokes, and brain damage however we have cases that show memories often come back when we approach death. Also i want to talk about the observer in Quantum Physics, what it means is not just human observers but all living observers that interact with a mechanical instrument such as a telescope. Its been assumed that just a telescope can cause the collapse in the wave function so for example the moon doesn't exist with just the telescope present. But that isn't true that experiment has already been done to try to disprove that living observers had to be present. But it looks like indeed living observers not only have to be present but they must make the observation themselves by looking into the telescope for the moon to exist. If they don't look at the moon the moon will not exist. This strongly suggest that consciousness which is what were using to see the moon has some independent existence from matter. Also it has its own degree of freedom. This conclusion is not good for materialists, naturalists, physicalists who assert that consciousness has not real important role in reality.

Rebuttal to Steven Novella's Body Snatchers, Phantom Limbs, and Alien Hands

Dr. Steven Novella says that we cannot trust are own experiences, well of course we can't unless of course their is strong collaboration by highly credential scientists, as well as evidence to support it. Steven Novella then goes us to say that brain activity is sufficient cause to explain consciousness how so?. Simply saying so, is not going to do. Many neuroscientists have also lump into this false assumption perhaps brain activity strongly correlates with consciousness but isn't the sole cause of consciousness.

Why Saying that Consciousness is energy is wrong!!!

There is a category mistake i get from a quite a few spiritual people and that is that because cannot be created or destroyed that it applies to consciousness. WRONG we know that matter is energy so that energy is just for the maggots, worms etc that eat your body when you are buried. So it would have to be some quantized energy packet that quantum physics talks about like the many world interpretations where is a conservation of energy.

Materialists always mention Gilbert Ryle a behaviorist book on substance dualism trying to discredit the ghost in the machine argument. I would say that the ghost in the machine argument obviously doesn't make any sense if there is a little man in the brain of instead the soul as similiar to the physical appearance of the physical body. The materialists don't obviously mention how behaviorism was a great failure a field that was a complete disaster.

For their to be afterlife there obviously would have to be a different type of matter that the soul is, dark matter if you will that would be indestructible. Also the laws of the physics would be different. That is what you have if you think parallel universes is true.

My answer to the first question would be that the typical accusation that the mediums were master magicians even in broad daylight and that they still fooled the researchers.

My answer to the second question would be the nature of the otherside, that we have to follow their rules, we don't get to set up our own rules on this side.

I wonder if anyone knows to beat panic attacks?. I am afraid that my increase in my medication will not work.I have had panic attacks since 2000 now. Lately i had a very bad spell of panic attacks, having them day and night now. I really don't what is causing my panic attacks. My symptoms are as follows:

-sweaty palms
-sweaty face
-sore stomach
-nausea and getting physically sick
-very dry mouth and stuffy nose

I will be getting my first pay this upcoming Monday for 4 day pay period. Then after that a 10 day pay period. Then Dayle said to me the last pay i will have will be a 1 week pay in July.

It looks like cold arctic air is coming down across eastern Canada. We may have a major snowstorm next weekend all depends on the track of the storm of course. The Nao which is the North Atlantic Oscillation is expected to remain negative for awhile then go neutral then go very negative after the 16th of Dec. The PNA which stands for the Pacific/North American pattern is expected to remain negative. Another reason why the cold air will remain locked in place is that a big block is developing. This pattern looks to last at least 3 weeks. The Euro Weeklies suggest that this pattern will continue into the New Year. We will see.

An Honest Open Minded Skeptic

I have come across an open minded skeptic his name is Anthony Campbell who admits that the evidence for survival of bodily of death shouldn't be dismissed out of hand or by assuming the researchers were just gullible. That the evidence should be taken serious on the other hand he says that the mind clearly appears to depend on the brain so an honest person probably should be in utter puzzlement. Of course, I don't agree with his last statement as the evidence of the mind depending on the brain can be explain by more than any materialist theory of mind and brain. The transmission theory of the mind also makes testable predictions as well as I have mentioned before.

Being open minded doesn't mean your preliminary conclusion has to be the same no. No it can be completely but admitting at least that their is convincing evidence for life after death that is very difficult to explain away except for survival of bodily death that is being open minded.

Just don't know how much more I can take, losing my father, and my financial situation don't have enough for EI because the program i was in Skill's Link didn't give me my last pay it was a one week one that was all i needed to start receiving EI for a full year. Now i have to apply for Welfare something i was on before and i don't want to go back on it.

Also my weight has gone up like crazy i am about 270 pounds or more crazy is right, i remember when i used to be 192 pounds. That is because of all of the stress i have been under so i have been getting a lot of chips, bars, drinking lots and lots of pop, eating fast food lots of it. Also lots of gambling doing loads of scratch tickets and breakopens. It has gotten out of control. I also have lost all of my determination i have no idea how I am going to get it back.

I have been applying at a few places but no response back from them. Also i have heard absolutely nothing about if the Hector Exhibit Centre got any funding for me. If they did i would be able to go back there and work full time. I am also very mad at Dorothy Dole, Angela, Nikkie, Lyndsay for not helping me find a job. They failed, I did everything i could but their side wasn't doing as much to get that wheel turning.

Also i ain't the only one others who have been in the Skills Link program are also without work. They also tried very hard and did everything they could. What they did to us is something that is mean, wrong, and totally out of line. It's going to be almost impossible to celebrate Halloween and Christmas this year without my father it will be the first of a lot to come. Things certainly will never be the same again.Tomorrow I am planning on getting more copies down of my Resume and Cover Letter done at the Dobsons Centre. At least then i will have more copies and will go around tomorrow and put some in at Sobeys, McDonalds, Pizza Delight and Zellers.

Not all is negative however, they did help me with one thing and that was my portfolio and i do appreciate that. At least I have something the employer can look at.

Not so fast there are a lot of big problems with this explanation. The study found identifical electrical surges in all 7 teminally ill patients moments before their lives ended. The doctors however do admit that complex mental experiences are happening in near death experiences/out of body experiences unlike other scientists who pretend that those experiences don't happen. The big problem is

1] Doesn't explain accurate verdical accounts of obe that patients report from the hospital room and even well outside the hospital room.
2.] Doesn't explain how blind people from birth can accurately report there out of body experience
3] It appears this surge lasts for three minutes many out of body experiences happen for a longer period of time
4.] Also there is serious evidence for verdical experiences during a flat EEG,dilated pupils and absence of the gag.
5.] No report of any mental experiences whatsoevr by the patients, only the scientist doing the study assumed they had these experiences when this last brain surge happened.
6.] The last electrical surge is also probably a low level surge, because remember patients with near death experiences have full blown and even heightened conscious

My Father is in the hospital but fine now

First he went to the hospital then his heart was racing with a lot of fluid built up in his heart and lungs the doctor he took a minor heart attack reducing his heart function from 30 percent to 20 percent. The doctor said the next one would probably be a massive heartache, luckily however the medication they gave him actually worked and now all of the fluid is gone around his lungs and heart. He had some breathing issues too because of the fluid but the x-rays done on his chest all three of them showed that he is ok.

He is still in the ICU room for now, but will probably be moved down to the ward soon. What a weekend this was!!!.

Update: I was wrong my father passed away on Sunday apparently only some of the fluid left his lungs and around his heart. He took a massive heartache on Sunday. I miss him so much!!! I love you dad!!!

It seems that way to some degree when Winston Wu says he believes in the conspiracy
theory that 9/11 was an inside job. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that it was an inside job. All the evidence points to contrary!, this will give off the
impression that anyone that thinks that their is life after death must also believe in conspiracy theories, the lochness monster, big foot etc. This certainly isn't true but skeptics will say that a lot of them do. Fine maybe so certainly some do believe in conspiracy and the like such as David Icke. Which I think is a total nutcase the only thing i agree with him on is that their is life after death probably.

From what i said above you may think i'm closed minded and that i only discuss topics that i find that i must emotionally defend. I disagree the reason why i think that their is an afterlife is based on my evaluation and research into this topic. The reason why I don't believe in any conspiracy theories is because there is no scientific evidence whatsoever that supports any of them. However sadly the point is David Icke, Winston Wuu and others do significant damage to our side they certainly don't help the evidence for survival get at least considered by mainstream science as well as the evidence for psi.

Second keep pressing F8 until save mode shows up
Third get into save mode then once in press ctrl+atl+delete a few times until the login screen shows up

I like to respond to some of Novella's Remarks on NDE's

He seems to ignore the fact that at least 92 percent of people who have ndes report seeing deceased love ones, where only a small percentage see living people this set of evidence weighs against a view that ndes are hallucinatory [Psychological, Neurophysiology].

Also he mentions how newer studies on magnetic stimulation on the brain show that nde's, are just a part of the brain [temporal lobe] that creates the out of body experience etc]. I think he is referring to this study here.

Here are the compelling empirical reasons why Nde/Obe get lots of support to the
Survival Hypothesis

1.) Over 90 percent of nde see deceased loved ones but only a small percentage see living people.

4.) All neurophysiological and psychological models fail to explain any of the evidence above. As much as it hurts materialist's like "Dr. Steven Novella" to admit it the evidence is very straightforward and precise to ignore and avoid the evidence above, for nde/obe is only avoiding the facts that are clearly there.

Artifical Life Created in Laboratory? No but a Big Step Forward

It looks like artifical life has been created recently. Dr. Mark Venter with the help
of a software program and a pre-existing bacterial host with it's Dna created a synthetic cell. So does this prove that evolution is a random natural process? or could it be that intelligence aids in the process?. By looking at this recent experiment i have to say that it is intelligence that aided in the process, because the pre-existing bacterial host with it's Dna itself has intelligence that aided in the process of creating the synthetic cell.

Of course that is my interpretation of what happened I'm sure N aturalists would disagree with me. Working At The Hector Centre

I had the day today at my work program because there was an in service. So we got paid for the whole day today which is sweet. Speaking of my work program It looks like I have a job placement at the Hector Centre that is where I will be doing data entry, inputing data such as numbers, names etc. The money is apparently coming from a grant. They will have three new computers there soon. This isn't some data entry work from home get rich scam!. It's from a actual place that pays their employees to do data entry which is great. Should be fun!!!

Super Psi Falsified?

Any good theory can be falsified by repeated experiments, Super Psi appears to have been falsified based all thousands and thousands of experiments producing weak psi effects inside a laboratory setting. I know Dean Radin still believes that psi could be a function of the brain therefore leaving the door open to Super Psi and also satisfying the materialists who won't accept the evidence for psi until there is a strong psi effect.

Knowing that psi is weak in a laboratory setting greatly strengthens the case for survival of bodily death but also appears to verify that it's the better hypothesis out of the two. If it was shown that strong psi existed into a laboratory setting at least a lot of the time this would falsify the survival hypothesis therefore making super psi the better hypothesis.

However that isn't what is happening it's time for Dean Radin along with other parapsychologists who think there is better evidence for psi among the living to accept the fact that the evidence is based on weak effects which therefore doesn't account for the evidence in support of the survival hypothesis. That however doesn't mean i think psi doesn't exist i do think psi phenomena exist but not super psi. The survival hypothesis predicts that psi will be commonly weak and this is the outcome been consistently occuring. So what do you think which is better supported the survival hypothesis or the super psi hypothesis?.

Skills Link Program Open House

There was a open house at skills link in Stellarton Nova Scotia i went because i am one of the individuals that is in the program. It's an awesome program funded by the government of Canada. Me and one of my co-workers Daniel did a power point presentation in front of about 40 people discussing all about the program and how it gives youth the chance to find employment out in the community. My two teachers are Angela and Nikkie both two good teachers. Also another teacher we work with Dorothy Dole she does the Whmis training course with us. We will be doing First Aid too. Peter Mackay wasn't at the open house.

New Study on Near Death Experiences

This study says that CO2 maybe the cause of the near death experience where they report a reunion with loved ones, a bright light etc. The problem is that other researchers have previously looked at blood carbon dioxide levels in relation to near-death experiences. In contrast to the Slovenian group's findings, Dr.Bruce Greyson says "what few data we have point in the opposite direction."

One earlier study found an association between these experiences and below-average carbon dioxide levels, whereas another failed to detect a significant difference in patients with versus without near-death experiences.

There was a post i have come across where the poster said this blog is "Sceptico not Skeptiko" which is the podcast i often post about. I like to rebut him or her with this statement he made.

I will put his words in bold Explore the possibility that the existing materialistic paradigm might be overturned (and may already be at a tipping poin).

Standard woo. And complete drivel.

This is a common skeptical tactic to call a statement you don't agree with woo. Of course, this poster is certain that materialism is correct and no evidence is going to overturn his viewpoint.

This poster has his own woo handbook which he thinks best describes woo woos this is obviously the best he/her can do. Coming up with tactics that woo woos use he thinks is a way for him not to argue at all. How arrogant is that?.

Announcement for grant 2010

The Helene Reeder Fund is pleased to announce the availability of grants for small and medium sized scientific research projects concerning the issue of Life after Death.

Grants will be awarded in the range of EUR 500 – 5000 maximum. ( Max $6844.64 in canadian dollars}

The topic Research into Life after Death should constitute the main objective of the project.

Applications in English to be submitted by email to the HRF c/o edgar.muller@comhem.se should include:

- detailed description of the project, including the objectives of the project,
- methodology,
- cost budget,
- timetable,
- plans to publish the results in some scientific journals,
- CV of the applicant,
- how the applicant plans to report back to the HRF about progress and result,
- any other financing than from HRF.

Please note: Applications should be received not later than 30th of October 2010. Loretta one of my co-workers that i was going to make a certificate for her and guess what? when i picked out the name because that was the exercise we had to do was pick out a name as long as it's different than our name and then create a certificate for that person. Dr. Robert Lanza Biocentrism A New Theory

Robert Lanza new theory suggests that death is not the end and that their is another reality beyond time and space. His view is idealism that consciousness creates reality. His theory could account for the enormous body of evidence for survival of the soul. For the materialists who are dead certain that they are right they will obviously scoff at this theory. I don't know what he thinks of parapsychological research or the evidence for survival but he does lay out another possible explanation that could account for it. Of course materialists have criticized his work in numerous postings. Read them for yourself and make up your own mind.

Near-Death Experience Skeptic, Dr. G.M. Woerlee Takes Aim at Dr. Jeffrey Long’s, Evidence of the Afterlife

Another excellent skeptiko podcast host Alex Tskaris gets into a discussion with skeptic anesthesiologist G.M. Woerlee. In this 90 minute interview Woerlee attempts too refute nine lines of evidence that Dr. Jeffery Long believes support the survival hypothesis and are not a naturalistic/biological phenomenon. After watching this recent podcast i will say that anesthesiologist G.M. Woerlee has some good points, one of those good points is how can a immaterial soul hear and see things around them when they have a flat EEG?. My answer would be that the immaterial soul uses the senses as the the physical body used but those senses are now greatly enhanced.

Another argument he used is that heart massage brings back patients who are on the brink of death.

The problem with this is that their are a lot of cases where the patient has a out of body experience and doesn't feel any pain from the cardiac massage. This strongly suggests that they are different from the cases that are also well known where patients don't have out of body experiences but feel pain after receiving cardiac massage.

He also says that drugs, anoxia etc account for all near death and out of body experiences.

I disagree, their possible explanations but they all come up short explaining the entire phenomena. A good theory accounts for all of the phenomena not just some of it.

A commenter who goes under the name Fedde said the perceiving part could be a form of ESP, yes it could be that certainly is another possible explanation. Even though i don't give much attention to the Super ESP hypothesis it nevertheless is a possible alternative explanation. Their is another possible explanation however too and this explanation would be that both hypotheses are true that survival and Super ESP but occur. That the soul uses ESP to hear and see things around it.

Naturalism the Dominant View of Mainstream Science

One of the reasons is the major successes it has, however when it fails which it has it's hard to give it up. The evidence against naturalism in general is overwhelming their is no way the evidence for survival can be accommodated in a naturalist worldview. Science can be used to favor a particular worldview over another if the evidence is uncovered. The evidence for survival fits well in a substance dualist worldview but doesn't fit in a naturalist worldview. That is one of the major reasons why I cannot take naturalism as the answer to why were here, who we are etc. Another reason is the evidence for psi phenomena that have been replicated over and over with positive results. This evidence also doesn't fit a naturalist worldview but does fit substance dualist and can also fit the view that all of reality is created by consciousness itself.

One thing can seems very straight forward naturalism isn't the answer however nothing can be ruled out completely. If all of the evidence for survival is just scientists chasing over something that really doesn't exist and psi doesn't exist either like naturalists assert. Well then they have won this debate hands down. One way to know for certain who's right and who's wrong is those last minutes of our lives when our bodies shutdown. Then we will all know the answer with 100 percent certainity.

Free Will Is Not An Illusion After All

I have come across a new scientist article where two scientists did a couple of experiments trying to replicate Benjamin Libet's free will experiment where he concluded that unconscious neural processes determine our actions before we are ever aware of making a decision. His experiment is however called into question by Jeff Miller and Judy Trevena of the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. They used scalp electrodes, but instead of letting their volunteers decide when to move, Miller and Trevena asked them to wait for an audio tone before deciding whether to tap a key. If Libet's interpretation were correct, Miller reasoned, the readiness potential should be greater after the tone when a person chose to tap the key.

While there was an readiness potential before volunteers made their decision to move, the signal was the same whether or not they elected to tap. Miller concludes that the readiness potential may merely be a sign that the brain is paying attention and does not indicate that a decision has been made.

Miller and Trevena also failed to find evidence of subconscious decision-making in a second experiment. This time they asked volunteers to press a key after the tone, but to decide on the spot whether to use their left or right hand. As movement in the right limbs is related to the brain signals in the left hemisphere and vice versa, they reasoned that if an unconscious process is driving this decision, where it occurs in the brain should depend on which hand is chosen. But they found no such correlation.

Evidence For Quantum Coherence Continues To Mount

I have recently read a post by parapsychologist Dean Radin where he says that the evidence for quantum coherence in living systems at room temperature. He says this recently because another experiment has been done that shows quantum coherence continues even at room temperature so their is some form of quantum entanglement in living systems. This conflicts with long held dogma that it simply is not possible to have quantum effects in living systems. This new experiment is published in the science journal called nature. Rather or not this is the mechanism for psi is an open question.

Also i like to discuss too i recent video i listened too a closer to truth video where Robert Lawrence Kuhn interview scientist Robert Parker. Robert says a number of things that i like to discuss here.

He mentions first, " People want to believe and it's easy to fool them"

This is a good statement but one where i would say Robert is using an argument such as for example well kids want to believe santa claus really exists but of course he doesn't. The problem is this argument sounds very good at first but once you dissect it you find that it's very weak in nature. The reason why people believe in an afterlife it's not because simply they want it too be so. Of course, i can't say that for everyone but at least some people hold to the view that an afterlife is probably true based on their research and assessment of the evidence.

Next he says, "They get debunked over and over again the same claims"

Just because they get debunked doesn't mean the debunker himself is making an fair assessment of what is really going on. Yes sometimes the debunker does but other times not.

He says, "There's are a hint of an afterlife", you are not going to be reunited with your loved ones".

This is where Robert should first do some research into psychical research and parapsychology on this own then come back and see if his view changes any.

WRONG, do some research into psychical research and you will soon find out their is a ton of verifiable information.

True that religions have manipulated people to follow a certain set of rules, every religion has a different set of rules. This of course, makes it seem obvious that any afterlife view is sure manipulation.

Dualism Is Long Long Dead Assert The Materialists

I have read this from a lot of materialists saying this very thing. Without actually weighing the evidence against materialists in the first place. As i have mentioned many many times on this blog the massive amounts of evidence, that do not fit into an materialist worldview. The claim that mind is an aspect of the brain for example is reverted by many lines of evidence one of them is the fact that near death experiences are occurring when someone is having a flat EEG. How do we know this?.

This is because the patterns strongly show that these experiences are happening for a long period of time. Now their is minimal activity going on but would it support consciousness when your flat lined no it wouldn't. So clearly, flat EEG ndes refute the view that mind is an aspect of brain activity along with other materialist theories of mind and brain.

Here is a good example of a materialist claiming there fmri's reading people's thoughts provides more nails in the coffin of dualism.

However, their obvious is a way to interpret this rationally in a dualist view. Simply by saying that no dualist denies that the brain and it's subconscious parts play a big role in controlling our decisions. This doesn't mean we have no free will at all, but that we have limited free will. Materialist's would say we need full blown free will to the extent that we have control over everything that happens to us. Which isn't true we obviously, don't and that isn't what is require to postulate the possibility of a soul surviving the demise of the physical body.

Also if you notice in the video where the scientist says i wouldn't call it hostaging because it implies a dualism between your conscious mind and your brain activity. So as you see this scientist is ignoring the possible alternative open minded scientist?. But no surprise either simply following the current worldview doesn't want to go against the grail.

Near Death Experiences And Out Of Body Experiences Most Likely Point To Survival Of Bodily Death Or Super ESP

This is based on the fact that human studies as well as animal studies have typically shown very little brain perfusion [blood flow] or glucose utilization when the EEG is flat. There are deep brain areas involved in generating memories that might still operate at some very reduced level during cardiac arrest, but of course any subcortically generated activity can’t be brought to consciousness without at least one functioning cerebral hemisphere. So even if there were some way that NDEs were generated during the hypoxic state [while the brain is shut off from oxygen], you would not experience them until reperfusion [blood flow] allowed you to dream them or wake up and talk about them. This right there along with the evidence that patients can bring back information they couldn't have possibly known as while as seeing this even miles away. This is why near death experiences and out of body experiences are most likely point toward survival of bodily death or Super Esp. I for one lean more towards survival based on the fact that a lot of the evidence come from other areas are very hard to accept through a super Esp theory.

The Fear Of Death Is It Really Necessary?

Why are we humans so afraid of death?. There are numerous reasons why we are some of them that come to mind are:

1.] The fear of torture in hell
2.] Ceasing to be nothing after death
3.] Fear of leaving all living loved ones alone
4.] It being painful

Those seem to be the obvious ones, i for one no longer fear death as much as i used too. However i do still fear it to an extent based on the fact that nothing is certain. I for one am leading to two possible scenarios that seem more probable now then they did before. That is when i used to think death was the end of my consciousness. Those two scenarios are

1. Super ESP- an infinite amount of information in the universe that mediums just tap into and then becomes no evidence that mediums are communicating with souls from the otherside.

2. Some kind of an afterlife- This one seems more probable based on all of the available evidence we have. In the end, it all comes down to a matter of choice will you be someone who believes that death is the end of personality, memories etc?. Or someone who believes all of the evidence for life after death can be explained by a super ESP theory?. Last but not least believe that the evidence that is opposed to the current view of science point towards life after death. If we all knew for certain that their is an afterlife tommorrow i am sure it wouldn't necessarily be a good thing. Because people would want to commit suicide just to be with their loved ones on the otherside.

Why Quantum Mechanics Not Psi?

This is easy to answer, it's because it's always classified to be under the heading of "paranormal" where quantum mechanics is not. One skeptic was mentioning how even skeptics of the paranormal accepted wacky strange ideas from quantum mechanics such as multiple universes, quantum entanglement etc. However acceptance of those ideas are mainly in physics themselves and not surprisingly if this skeptic did his homework he would find that a lot of quantum physicists accept the overwhelming evidence for psi phenomena. As far as other fields of science go with their thinking on ideas such as multiple universes, quantum entanglement go i can say that biologists, neuroscientists etc don't really understand the implications of such ideas themselves. The relationship psi has with quantum mechanics their are many.

1] Both have replicated experimental evidence [ though psi evidence is always slashed by extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. This is a cop-out because their is nothing better than the scientific method to get at the truth.

2]. Both have yes wanky ideas that appear to be true.

3] Quantum Mechanics theories appear to have all come true the same that seems to be happening with numerous psi phenomena.

It is typically claimed by skeptics that governmens and universities wasted millions of dollars on psi and found nothing. That is completely not true, for example PEAR founder Dr Robert Jahn:

For 28 years, we've done what we wanted to do, and there's no reason to stay and generate more of the same data. If people don't believe us after all the results we've produced, then they never will... It's time for a new era; for someone to figure out what the implications of our results are for human culture, for future study, and - if the findings are correct - what they say about our basic scientific attitude.

Duke University's parapsychology lab closed down decades ago, but not because of a lack of results. Joseph Rhine moved DU's parapsychology lab off-campus, and continues to this day as the Rhine Research Centre. Rhine's research reported positive results. Stanford University's interest in parapsychology was disrupted when the Stanford Research Institute separated from the University and became SRI International. SRI International was the nursery for the Stargate remote viewing project, of which statistician Jessica Utts concluded: "Using the standards applied to any other area of science, it is concluded that psychic functioning has been well-established. The statistical results of the studies examined are far beyond what is expected by chance...there is little benefit to continuing experiments designed to offer proof, since there is little more to be offered to anyone who does not accept the current collection of data."

So you can see the skeptics are wrong here governments and universities have found very strong replicable evidence for psi.

Is Dualism Testable?

Of course dualism is testable and also falsifiable. The evidence that supports dualism in the form of substance dualism is very very strong, it's hard to see how educated professionals can go on denying the obvious facts. This is what this blog is all about letting the general public along with scientists that their is overwhelming data for survival of bodily death and psi phenomena.

Keith Augustine's theory that near death experiences that just hallucinations brought on by a dying brain. Has many problems for example how does he theory account for people who blind in life can see when experiencing an out of body experience?. Also people born deaf can hear again when having an out of body experience as well. Also the physiology of the brain completely works against his theory based on the fact that the cortex of the brain is no longer active in a lot of these cases. For his case to work he would have to show that lower cortical processes in the brain can somehow take over the function of higher ones in cardiac arrest. However that has never happened. Yes their is no doubt their is undetected brain activity that can't be picked up by EEG however those have been discovered in deeper areas of the brain that are not of that of the cortex.

I am happy to say that i know some people have found some very good information on this blog of mine. So i will definitely continue this blog. Their has been a lot of things lately happening in my life, such as i went for an interview to get on a job program. Today i took a CAAT test to test my IQ. It was very fun to do.

If i get the job program it looks like i will indeed be much better off than i am now. Which is a very good thing for sure. I have lately been think a lot about the h1n1 vaccine and this shortage problem well i know i will definitely be getting the shot as well as the seasonal flu shot. Starting too see how of the christmas commericals on tv lately it is wonderful. I love christmas time it's my favorite holiday.

Examples Say The Materialists That Show Mind Is Produced By The Brain And My Response

We only know of cognition when there is a functioning brain present, we have seen no cognition where a brain was not present. That is, we have never observed mind without brain.

- We are learning to read brain activity and make sense of it in terms of emotions and thoughts.

Why Parapsychology And Psychical Research Are Real Science

Commonly Parapsychology and Psychical Research are called pseudoscience because of the phenomena they deal with. For example Parapsychology deals mainly with psi phenomena, sometimes life after death phenomena too. Where Psychical Research main focus is the survival question do we survive?. The claim made by many skeptics is that the evidence for survival and psi are not. Psi phenomena for example is verifiable and repeatable and has been shown to exist for over a century now. Even Richard Wiseman admits this but says that even though the scientific method shows it exists, that we should have a higher standard of evidence for it. This obviously is a cop out based on the fact that the scientific method is the best method we have of testing things.
