Why do we have consciousness at all?.

I can imagine a world where consciousness doesn't exist at all. Why does evolution allow for consciousness instead of zombie like animals?. This has always got me thinking. You could say that natural selection chooses consciousness over being a zombie because it's all about reproducing. Well that seem like a short sighted answer. I mean why all this subjective qualities that apparently consciousness has?. Plus I can easily imagine a different direction of evolution where reproduction is not the main goal.


This is one of the arguments that a materialist fails to answer instead they try to turn it around by saying why do you need a brain if consciousness can do it all?. Well, first of all consciousness uses the brain as a interface for consciousness and mind. I remember neurologist Steven Novella mentioning to me that specific structures effect consciousness. Well specific parts of your television cut off channels in your television set. The hard problem of consciousness is how can you explain the subjective feeling of consciousness. This inner life experience that we all internally experience. How can the brain give rise to subjective experience?.


This is far from an easy question to answer some believe there is really is no hard problem at all like neurologist Steven Novella. Which of course leads to pure denial. While, other honest scientists admit their is a serious problem here and there is right now no good working theory to account for consciousness. However, I think there is many scientists are most likely however are not aware of the transmission theory of the brain. If they were as well as the evidence in favor of it they may be willing to heavily consider it as a theory that can account for consciousness with how it relates to the brain.

New Subatomic Particles found that defy the Standard Model of Physics

It looks like new particles have been found that defy the Standard Model of physics. There goes the objection by materialist's such as physicist Sean Carroll who claims that all known particles and laws have been discovered by the Standard Model of Physics. This new finding says not so fast.

This last bit of the article was very interesting. "Lepton universality is truly enshrined in the Standard Model. If this universality is broken, we can say that we’ve found evidence for non-standard physics”, completed Professor Jawahery".

Materialist's all wound up for sound

In a recent article posted by many multiple sources an experiment seems to show something that has been shown before however this time it looks like it's been proven. The materialist neurologist Steven Novella says that the general public shouldn't be hoodwinked into such views that reality doesn't exist if observers don't measure. Here is the article here. What this experiment shows is that ALL of living beings bring existence into being. If a person dies reality will still exist but if the whole of all living things were to be destroyed then reality would not exist not just in the micro level but also at the macro level too as quantum weirdness does scale up to the macro level of reality. This would not show materialism is false but it would show that the realist approach itself is in serious trouble. Paul Parnell a user on the blog is trying to help educate Dr. Steven Novella in the comment section about why observation is important in quantum mechanics. Of course, he says consciousness has nothing to do with observation. Others would disagree with that such as physicist Andrei Linde among others.

NDE Aware Study Published!!!

Well the long awaited study done by Dr. Sam Parnia and his colleagues has finally been published. Skeptics are already over all of course. One of the skeptic websites, neurologica blog, runned by Dr. Steven Novella claims that no evidence for an afterlife was found in the study. He is wrong as one case of a man was verified by using a physical marker (audio stimuli, he was able to hear the beeps, the beeping machine made three beeps in three minute intervals. This patient's near death experience happened exactly when the patient was unconsciousness, with no brain activity and no heart beat. This case shows clearly that near death experiences are not hallucinations. Most of the patients were interviewed more than once.


The study concludes numerous points:


• The themes relating to the experience of death appear far broader than what has been understood so far, or what has been described as so called near-death experiences.

• In some cases of cardiac arrest, memories of visual awareness compatible with so called out-of-body experiences may correspond with actual events.

• A higher proportion of people may have vivid death experiences, but do not recall them due to the effects of brain injury or sedative drugs on memory circuits.

• Widely used yet scientifically imprecise terms such as near-death and out-of-body experiences may not be sufficient to describe the actual experience of death. Future studies should focus on cardiac arrest, which is biologically synonymous with death, rather than ill-defined medical states sometimes referred to as ‘near-death’.

• The recalled experience surrounding death merits a genuine investigation without prejudice.
