The production model v.s the Receiver/filter/reducing valve theory

It is often said by Materialists that the dramatic alterations of the brain on the mind/consciousness demonstrates that the brain somehow produces Consciousness. However a simple production model doesn't work as the brain is very complex and you won't here any dispute about that from Materialist scientist's. So we liken it to a complex production model as the brain is like a super computer that hasn't been created yet. It is said that this model can explain the effects the brain has on the mind but the receiver analogy cannot as the brain is not a tv set. However, let's be clear here subbstance dualists are not saying the brain is a simple tv set but instead a complex tv set so the effects are very much amped up. I should point out the analogy that the brain is a tv set is speaking loosely as I have mentioned a radio as well before.
