Why Occam's Razor doesn't apply to the hard questions of life

Occam's Razor is a very useful tool in Science however the more I think about it I don't think it should apply to the hard tough questions of life such as do we have free will?, Did the Universe come by chance or did it come by something creating the universe be that a god or some advanced alien civilization. How did life begin? and so many more. Applying as little assumptions as possble is a good thing however when it comes to these hard questions that may not work.
